Construction Equipment Loan - Reliance Commercial Finance

When Laxman Kaluji Paliyar approached Reliance Commercial Finance, one of the Group companies of Reliance Capital, for a commercial loan - he had nothing to his name, save his kaccha house.

Mr. Paliyar used to make ends meet by transporting sand on a donkey. He used to supplement his meagre income wherever he could by taking up some small construction and digging work using old conventional equipment. The only thing he had to show off was the trust and respect of his employers and fellow men for his dedication and hard work. His only asset was his mud hut and nothing else.

He would have continued to ply his trade in this way had he not been told of Reliance Commercial Finance and its loans for small businessmen. As it usually happens with most of our customers, Mr. Paliyar was not too keen to believe the story – at first. But like all enterprising men, he got a firm grip on his apprehension and one fine day stepped into the local Reliance Commercial Finance office to enquire of his chances of getting a construction equipment loan.

Needless to say, our sales representatives were sceptical at first. After all, the only thing Mr. Paliyar had to show as his asset was that kaccha house and some references of people who could vouch for him. He had no CIBIL record, no credit history and he wanted a loan based on his references.

But here is where the story got interesting. Our representatives found out that Mr. Paliyar had in-depth knowledge of construction equipment machinery. He knew how they worked, how they were repaired, where they can be used and how they should be used. His knowledge of machinery was so good that our representatives realised that he ought to be and should be trusted simply due to this reason. But to be doubly sure of their decision, they checked out his references. Which turned out to be excellent.

And so finally, a construction equipment loan was disbursed to Laxman Kaluji Paliyar, the owner of a small kaccha house who used to make ends meet by transporting sand on a donkey.

Fast forward to today, Mr. Paliyar owns and lives in a plush bungalow and owns 5 construction equipment machines. He has not only turned around his fortunes but also helped his brother setup his own business.

Mr. Paliyar continues to be associated with Reliance Money – as a customer and above all, as a valuable member of the Reliance Capital family.
